Creating Your Store

Getting your store live is easier than you might think. From signing up to having a real, working storefront takes most people less than an hour. This guide walks you through every step — from creating your account to making your store look and feel like you.

Step 1: Sign Up

Head to sellwithpicket.com and click Get Started Free. Enter your name, email address, and a password. You’ll get a confirmation email — click the link inside to verify your address and activate your account.

Step 2: Tell Us About Your Farm

After confirming your email, you’ll land on the onboarding flow — a short series of questions that helps Picket set up your store correctly from the start.

• Farm or business name — This appears in your storefront header, customer emails, and your store URL. Use the name your customers already know you by.
• Business type — Flower farm, market garden, home bakery, soap & body, or other cottage business. This helps Picket suggest the right terminology and default settings.
• Your location — City and state. Used to help customers find you and to set the default timezone for order scheduling.

You can change all of these later in Settings > General, so don’t stress about getting it perfect right now.

Step 3: Upload Your Logo

Your logo appears in your storefront header and on all customer emails. To upload it:

1. Go to Settings > Design in the left sidebar.
2. Under Logo, click Upload Logo.
3. Select your image file.

Best practices:

• Format: PNG with a transparent background works best. SVG is also supported.
• Shape: Square or horizontal logos both work. Avoid very wide, thin banners — they don’t scale well on mobile.
• Size: At least 400×400px so it looks sharp on high-resolution screens.
• Background: Use a transparent PNG so your logo looks clean on any background color.

Don’t have a logo yet? That’s completely fine — your farm name displays as styled text until you add one. You can always come back and upload one later.

Step 4: Choose Your Brand Color

Under Settings > Design, find the Primary Color section. This color is used for buttons, links, and accents throughout your storefront — so it has a big impact on how your store feels.

Click the color swatch to open the picker. You can enter a hex code directly (e.g., #4A7C59 for a deep sage green), drag the color wheel, or paste a color from your brand guidelines.

Tips:

• Choose a color that already appears in your logo or farm photography — this creates instant visual cohesion.
• Earthy greens, warm terracottas, and dusty blues all work beautifully for farm and cottage businesses.
• Avoid very pale colors as primary — they can disappear on white backgrounds and make buttons hard to read.

Step 5: Select a Font Pairing

Under Settings > Design > Typography, you’ll find curated font pairings — a heading font matched with a complementary body font. Each pairing includes a live preview. Options range from modern and clean to warm and handcrafted. Pick the one that feels most like your brand.

Step 6: Add Your Contact Information

Under Settings > General, fill in:

• Contact email — Customers see this in the storefront footer and in all order confirmation emails.
• Phone number — Optional, but useful for customers who want to call before ordering.
• Business address — Used for delivery distance calculations and in your storefront footer.

Your Store URL

Your store is automatically available at yourfarmname.mypicket.app. You can find your exact URL on the main Dashboard page. Share it anywhere — Instagram bio, email signature, Facebook page, or a simple text to your first customers.

If you want a custom domain (like shop.yourfarm.com), that’s available in Settings > Domain once you’re on a paid plan.
