Grow at your own pace.
Every business starts somewhere. Pick the plan that fits where you are today — and upgrade when you're ready.
Chapter One
You've got something to sell.
Maybe your dahlias finally took off this year. Maybe your neighbor just asked if she could buy a jar of that honey. Maybe the soap you've been making is too good to keep giving away. You don't need much — just a clean place to take orders and stop managing everything through text messages.
The Free plan is real. Not a trial that expires. Your storefront, your products, your customers — for as long as you want.
Free
For businesses just getting started
Online shop, cart, checkout, page builder, order management, customer profiles, discount codes, and analytics. Everything you need to start selling.
Then the orders start coming in…
You're selling at two markets. Regulars are asking about subscriptions. You need a second delivery zone for the next town over. Your business is growing — and you need tools that keep up.
Chapter Two
The regulars know your name.
You're doing $2,000–$3,000 a month in orders. People are subscribing. You hired someone to help with deliveries on Saturdays. The 2% service fee on Free is starting to add up — and you need more than 15 products.
Standard gives you room to grow. 30 products, 100 orders a month, 3 subscription plans, 3 delivery zones — and just a 1% service fee. You pay $29/mo. You get 3 team seats so your helpers can log in too.
The crossover math: At ~$2,900/mo in sales, Standard's $29/mo + 1% costs less than the 2% service fee on Free. The upgrade pays for itself.
Standard
For businesses with traction
Everything in Free, with higher limits across the board. Just a 1% service fee. Room for your team.
And then it becomes your livelihood…
You're doing $10K+ a month. You have staff, multiple delivery routes, and wholesale accounts. You need unlimited products, unlimited orders, and unlimited everything.
Chapter Three
This is your full-time thing now.
You're running a real operation. Multiple delivery routes, a growing wholesale book, a team that logs in every day. Standard's limits — 30 products, 100 orders/month — are holding you back.
Unlimited removes every limit. Unlimited products, orders, subscriptions, delivery zones, team seats, and storage. Priority support and custom domains. No service fee — down from Standard's 1%. Everything you need to scale.
The upgrade story: Unlimited is about removing limits and dropping the last 1% fee. When you outgrow 30 products or 100 orders/month — or cross ~$5,000/mo in sales — Unlimited is the next step.

Already on Shopify? Here's the honest math.
Shopify is great for general e-commerce. But if you deliver locally and manage subscriptions, you'll need apps — and those add up.
| Picket | Shopify + Apps | |
|---|---|---|
| Platform | $29/mo + 1% | $29/mo (annual) |
| Delivery zones | Included | +$30–50/mo app |
| Subscriptions / CSA | Included | +$50–100/mo app |
| Seasonal availability | Included | Manual or +$10/mo app |
| House accounts | Included | +$30–80/mo app |
| Pickup scheduling | Included | Basic (no time slots) |
| Real monthly cost | $29/mo + 1% | $150–280/mo |
Card processing is the same on both. Picket Standard has a 1% service fee; Shopify charges its own transaction fee if you don't use Shopify Payments.

Card processing (2.9% + 30¢) is the same on all plans and passes through at cost. Estimates assume ~$50 average order.
What it actually costs to get started.
Say you grow dahlias and zinnias in your backyard. You sell bouquets to neighbors and at the Saturday market. Here's how the numbers shake out.
Year one: you're just seeing if this works
You sell maybe $500–$800/month during the growing season, less in winter. Around $6,000 for the year across 80–100 orders. On Picket's Free plan, you pay nothing up front — just a 2% service fee on each sale. That's about $120 for the entire year.
On Shopify? Their cheapest plan is $29/month ($348/year). But you'd also need a subscription app ($25–50/month) and a delivery zone app ($30–50/month) to do what Picket does out of the box. That's $1,000+ a year before you've sold a single stem.
Year two: regulars start showing up
Business picks up. You're doing $2,000–$3,000/month in peak season. You've got 10 subscription customers. You need a second delivery zone for the next town over.
The 2% fee starts to add up, so you switch to Standard at $29/month + 1%. 30 products, 3 delivery zones, 3 subscriptions. $348 for the year plus 1% of sales. On Shopify with apps, you'd still be paying $1,000+.
The short version: Start free, pay almost nothing while you figure things out, and upgrade to a flat rate when it makes sense. You'll never pay for features that should have been included in the first place.
Common questions.
Is the Free plan really free?
Yes. No trial period, no credit card required. You get a full storefront with up to 15 products and 30 orders per month. Picket takes a 2% service fee on each sale. Card processing (2.9% + 30¢ per transaction) is separate and passes through at cost — same as every other platform.
When should I upgrade?
Free → Standard: When you hit Free plan limits (15 products or 30 orders/month) or when monthly sales exceed ~$2,900. At that point, Standard's $29/mo + 1% costs less than the 2% service fee.
Standard → Unlimited: When you outgrow Standard limits — 30 products, 100 orders/month, 3 subscription plans, or 3 delivery zones. Unlimited removes every limit and adds priority support.
What payment processor do you use?
Stripe. It's trusted by millions of businesses, supports Apple Pay and Google Pay, and deposits go straight to your bank account. Card processing fees (2.9% + 30¢ per transaction) pass through at cost on all plans. Picket doesn't mark up payment processing.
Can I switch plans later?
Anytime. Upgrade when you need more, downgrade if things slow down. Changes take effect on your next billing cycle. No penalties, no contracts.
What's the service fee?
The Free plan has a 2% service fee on each sale — that's how we keep it free. Standard is $29/mo with a 1% service fee. Unlimited is $79/mo with no service fee at all. Card processing (2.9% + 30¢) is separate and identical across all plans.
How does Picket compare to Shopify?
Shopify Basic is $29/mo with annual billing but doesn't include delivery zones, subscription management, seasonal product availability, house accounts, or pickup scheduling. You can add subscription management through apps (free to $25/mo), but farm-specific workflows require stitching together tools that weren't designed for each other. Picket Standard is $29/mo + 1% with everything built in — no apps, no integration headaches.
Start free. Upgrade when you grow.
No credit card. No contracts. Just a storefront that's ready when you are.
